How mobile phones provide SEX to South Koreans?

I know it’s a question that keep you up late at night: how do South Koreans get their prostitutes?

While South Koreans used to get there whores the traditional ways; off the street, meet and greets at Charlie Sheen’s house; tougher anti-prostitution targeting brothels went into effect in 2004, and since then red-light district have shrunk by 42% in South Korea.

So what’s replacing them?

According to the Korea Internet Safety Commission, since 2005 websites or mobile phone content operators selling sex have more than quadrupled in South Korea; with more scattered venues such as barber shops, massage parlor, and karaoke bars (gives a whole new definition to lip syncing); serving as the rendezvous point.

I guess in South Korea “phone sex” isn’t just talk anymore.
